Mateusz Kowalski

Mateusz Kowalski, one of the most outstanding classical guitarists of his generation, is a Grammy Award nominee for the album Slavic Sessions, recorded in collaboration with the acclaimed guitarist Mak Grgić. This international recognition confirms his exceptional position on the global music scene and his stature as an artist who seamlessly combines technical mastery with profound musical storytelling.

Classical Guitar Magazine has described Kowalski as a “spectacular” musician — an artist who moves with remarkable stylistic sensitivity through a repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to contemporary music, while maintaining the highest standards of tone, refinement, and interpretative maturity. He has performed in the world’s most prestigious concert halls, including the Musikverein in Vienna, Shanghai Grand Theatre, and venues in New York, London, and Paris, and has appeared in over 20 countries worldwide.

He has also made history as the artist behind the first-ever live performance of Frédéric Chopin’s Piano Concerto in F minor in an arrangement for guitar and orchestra, presented at the Chopin and His Europe Festival. His presence at the Cavatina Guitar Festival underscores the core idea of the event — the guitar as a solo instrument capable of carrying both monumental form and the most intimate expression.
